Lisa Luby Ryan’s Vintage Living

I am not very inspired to blog - which is why I’ve been quiet for several days.  I am pretty wrapped up just now in my daughter’s ongoing health saga and the latest chapter is being written as we speak.  Therefore, insightful commentary and scintillating images are a bit beyond me just now.   I wracked my brain to come up with something to post for you, and remembered an exchange with a friend and a blogger that I had this morning about my favorite spots to shop here in Dallas.  I had to rattle off my favorites in like 20 seconds and hit send.  Here is one of them.

It is Partner’s Card Week here in Dallas, and everyone but me is out shopping.  With a Partner’s Card, you receive a 20% discount at participating retailers, and a portion of sales go to benefit The Family Place here in Dallas, a respite for victims of domestic violence.  One of my long time favorite shops in Dallas is Lisa Luby Ryan, and she has traditionally participated in this worthy cause.

You can see why I haunted this shop for quite a few years now.

Lisa makes several buying trips to England and France a year and brings back some truly wonderful objects.  She also stocks gorgeous furniture pieces and linens.

Not to mention light fixtures.

Graceful mirrors and lovely lamps…

and just sumptuous displays.

Do visit the website, here.  Lisa’s home was featured in the Nov-Dec 08 issue of Verandah, so do be sure to check that out as well.

Have a happy weekend.  Don’t feel too sorry for me.  Tomorrow my sister and I are off for a couple of hours of much needed retail therapy - early Christmas shopping - yeah!
